I realize that the content here unlikely presents any substantial use to a small group of readers this blog is shared with. I wrote it mostly as a “therapy” to express myself to whom it may concern.
However, I am happy to share the information about the whole experience or the process end to end in more detail, if interested. In essence, this is a full scope cross-functional project and it may have different flavors and implementations, based on your goals.
If your goal is to invest and get profit from real estate, maybe I will not be a good source (rather build a relationship with an active developer / builder or become one yourself). If your goal is to build a “tinyhouse” – neither am I expert in this topic.
Nevertheless, many features are common and I’ve gained a significant experience in handling them. E.g. how to find a proper piece of land or a buildable lot with existing utilities, how to deal with the county building department, how to prepare building permits for a review, how to check soil, geological properties and many other things.
